Choose a new moderator?

I know I tried to pass the mod torch off in the past and noone wanted it. Anyone want it now? I'm really just too completely apathetic & depressed to give a fuck about very much anymore. If noone volunteers in the next few days I'll just designate someone and hope they don't leave the tribe moderatorless. Sorry for sucking so bad. I just can't help it apparently.

Cheers.

Hey there Mr. M...sorry you're feeling so jaded. Perhaps it will fade with time. I tend to ride a pendulum, from "I can make a difference!" to "It's all futile anyway." But even when I'm feeling hopeless inside, I still go through the motions of the principles I believe in, so that at least I'm not becoming part of the problem and part of some self-fulfilling prophecy of futility. Then, after a bit, I begin to feel renewed again. I hope this darkness is something you are just passing through. Obviously at some point you felt that you could have an impact on this spinning sphere, or you wouldn't have wound up as moderator of a tribe such as this one. I hope you find your mojo again.

That said, I'd be happy to step in as moderator. I care deeply about reversing the consumerism that is gobbling up our nation, and our planet. I don't claim to have any brilliant ideas about how this can be achieved on a global scale, but I do try to be personally responsible. I'm not a voracious participant on Tribe, but I also won't be an absentee moderator. I tend to post 3 or 4 times a week, when I have something important to offer. If you, tribers, find that you'd like someone more ambitious, either volunteer now or I can pass the torch further down the road. Meanwhile, let's get on with it!

Sorry Mr M that you are feelin' blue. I am sure it will pass. One thing is for sure: everything is in flux and motion, the only thing we can be certain of is change.

Me too, I'd be happy to hold the torch of this tribe for a while, and when you come back to life you could always knock on our door and claim it back.

I totally agree, especially in these funny tribe times, I dont think we should be moderatorless if at all avoidable..

If you'd like to make Jeau the Mod, I'd be very happy too.

Take good care of yourself. Jana

I can only pick one person so I hope whomever I dont pick doesnt get upset. I will remain a member of the tribe. I'm all for the basic tenants / ideals here. I just don't feel I have contributed much at all here to the dialogue / content. There are other people here that are way smarter than me. And even if that's not a factor I don't care. There are certain tribes I feel like can be more interesting and productive if the moderator would change periodically. Like maybe once a month or even once a week, we could have a new moderator. Just to keep things "changing" and interesting. I feel I've been very stagnant as mod of this tribe. I don't care for stagnant tribes. Especially if I'm the moderator. lol I don't like when people post way too much just for the sake of posting either though. Quality is always better than quantity. I just feel like a new mod would be good for this tribe at this time. I will check in tommorrow morning and tommorrow night after work will pass the torch. And if anyone else is interested, speak now of temporarily hold my piece. I mean, uh, forever hold your peace. : ) Something like this.

Maybe there should be a vote.

I'm not already familiar with either candidate. I checked out both profiles right now, though.

          My vote is for Jeau.

Anyone else interested or any nominations or votes? I know I said I was gonna change it last night. I'll check in tonight after work and see if anyone else has added anything.

            BOINK!!!

I looked over the list of members twice. They ARE NOT in alphabetical order!!! I wanted to pick mindy but couldnt find her of jeau. So I picked ENIAD. I think she's a very cool person. If she doesnt want to be mod maybe she can find mindy on the list. And if miny and jeau want to trade off being mod every twoor four weeks or pass the torch to other people that's fine too. If ENIAD does want to mod this tribe I'm sure she will be great. Sorry I dumped it on you ENIAD. I put you, Brent & Abraxas' names in an envelope and yours was the one I picked. : )

              Cheers.

Was it somethng I said? ;)

Well, I wish you had found Mindy Ukulela...she would have been a fine choice. By the way, it might help you to know that you can sort the members by clicking "order by name," should you ever need to again!

Well I do hope The Eniad notices that you've appointed her...with 705 tribes in her roster, she might be a bit busy! Welcome to the Moderatorship, Eniad...this is a very interesting tribe and I hope you keep out the spammers and trolls.

Oh, and beautiful photography on your profile!

You can sort by name when looking at members. But I dont see that same option when changing mod. I just double checked and dont see it. So you have to scroll through all the names. I did that twice and didnt see either of you on there.

Nothing you said. I said I hope noone would be offended since "There can only be one." : ) I do like alot of the tribes mindy is on so that was a deciding factor for me. I messaged ENIAD and let her know. She may or may not want to be mod. Probably not. If she does great. If not she will look for you guys probably and designate one of you. Or someone else if she feels like it. I still think the mod torch of this tribe should be passed regularly. Maybe once a month. Just to keep it changing, interesting and fun.

                    Good morning America!

So the envelopes picked me! I must abide.

I love the topic and have studied law.

I get extremely busy because of my work so I did not volunteer.

Let's give it a spin. Message me if anything comes up or you have any comments.

                      Well, welcome Eniad-the-mod!

thanks for taking the challenge, and feel free to ask for support, or if you want to do what Mr M suggested and "take turns" give me a shout... if and when.

the main thing is that cool tribes dont get ruined by trolls,..

as we are currently experiencing the dark ages of tribe, I am one quiet campaigner for the upcoming renaissance,- and I wouldnt like some witch hunt fanatic getting hold of this particular tribe, if any at all..

happy breather to Mr M too,- enjoy!- and dont forget us. *waves across the waters..* (I'm in Switzerland)

I will stay on the tribe. I just feel it was stagnant with me as mod. That it could possibly be a little more active and interesting with someone else. Maybe not. Who knows. I know I didnt put much effort into myself really. I spend more time on other tribes. I do love that we have had little to no troll drama on this tribe too actually. Long ago one person objected to a picture someone had posted and was in a tizzy over it. That's about as much negativity as I've seen on here. And that wasnt too bad drama even really. He was just honestly stating his opinion. Yeah, somehow I don't see this tribe becoming a troll saloon. I've always thought it's interesting how they all tend to migrate to the Tribe tribes. Like TOU Watchdog and other tribes that have to do with tribe. The Secret Order od Hashisans? lol That Tao of Seth tribe? Hmm. Yeah. It's all about free speech and doesnt have a thing to do with competing to see who can be the biggest asshole on the planet. Purely for entertainment purposes of course. ( Rolls eyes )

Cheers to ENIAD!!! ( Clink clink )

Mr. M said: "Nothing you said. I said I hope noone would be offended since "There can only be one."

You must not have seen my winky face when I said "Was it something I said? ;) " I was in no way offended! Nor was I intent on being moderator, just offering my services since you were so eager to be relieved of the duty. I don't think the moderatorship is a big thing,as the only power it brings is to revise the description and delete spam. People should/will participate regardless of who is moderator! That said, you made a fine choice.

ENIAD is cool. She might not have the time though. I didnt even ask her. I just designated her then sent her a messae. I guess that was kind of uncool. Hmm. It's not really a big deal unless the mod is like the mod of the BM tribe. He seems kind of nazi-ish. Or the one that mods the Visionary Art tribe. He doesnt seem very open minded about art really. And sherpa on the Dr Hyatts Psychopaths Anonymous tribe. OH, MY GOODNESS!!! lol He's so smart yet so stupid at the same time.

Okay. So enough of my hating. : )

My point was that it doesnt matter that much really unless it's someone that isnt right for various reasons which arent discovered till it's too late. Then if they refuse to pass the torch it kind of sucks. But it matters too because if things are kind of slow and there isnt that much activity / posting, it is cool to have a mod who posts occasionally to stimulate some interesting conversation. In the past on the COR = Crossroads of Religion tribe, besides the Dan Dan the Christian man fiasco, the moderator Ali was NEVER around. Seriously. NEVER!!! Then finally when he came on when people were discussing choosing a new mod and ousting him he came back on and became this intolerable ass. Changeling is running that show now. I'm glad Rocky slowed down with his anti- Islam posts. I mean even if they had substance it just became overkill. Like non-stop anti-Islam stuff. I despise religion but I was so yawning at his posts. After a while I just stopped paying attention to him altogether. But everything I post isnt going to be about the same thing all the time. I could talk about wanting Tom Selleck to make me his boy toy till I'm blue in the face. But I won't. I may bring it up once in a while though. : )
